Central to St Michael’s Church is our love and worship of God through following the teachings and examples of Jesus Christ. We express our love for God by our love and practical care for each other and for those we live with and encounter in our daily lives.
With the help of the Holy Spirit, we are working towards being a caring community of believers through relevant worship, Bible study, prayer and biblical preaching – that will continue Christ’s ministry within the parish.
The tradition of which we are a part, has always been a living tradition. We continue to explore fresh expressions of biblical truths. We proclaim our faith in contemporary language and use the best of modern hymns and praise songs alongside the great hymns and psalms of the past.
In our worship we seek to retain the dignity and reverence of traditional worship and add to it a relaxed informality that accommodates the tastes of different generations.
As a Church of Scotland Church, we also seek to play our full part in the life of the Lothian Presbytery. We recognise it as our responsibility and priviledge to share in the work of mission, in this land and beyond.
The Visible Kirk, remembering the past, looking to the future, reaching out with the light of Christ’s love.
